Sorry for the dramatics, I’ve got Oscar fever! 
There were several determing factors for choosing the winner of my free wedding photography contest. The most important being that I have to be free on your wedding day. Being that I already have almost 20 weddings booked for 2008 – a lot of the entries didn’t make the first rounds of cuts due to me being unavailable.
It was difficult to find a judge willing to do the job of reading through the dozens of entries but alas I did! I will keep her name quiet so no one goes and yells at her for not picking them :p
All entries were submitted to my judge without the names and photos attached for a 100% objective judgement based on story alone. Remember the contest was for the best LOVE story. I wish I could have chosen all of the entries – I even cried reading some of them!
Ok – without further ado, the winner is:

here is a funny excerpt from their LOVE story
“We talked a little more, about football, for 3 hours. I left; I went home and told my roommate, “It’s too bad he’s my boss’ brother, oh well”.About a week later I got an email… AN EMAIL asking me out on a date! How cute. I forwarded it to my boss. Naturally. I said how cute. I emailed it to my best friend asking her if she thought he was in 8th grade … asking me out in an email. PUH-lease!
I said yes.
We laughed, we drank and I had a great time. I hated it. I phoned my best friend … “but he has a goatee… and a BLOG. I can’t like this guy.” We went out a few more times, me plotting the entire time how I would end it right before it got serious. That way I could have fun and still keep my job. I didn’t like this guy that much, there was no way I was going to jeopardize my job.
I liked him.
DAMNIT.
I gave in. We laughed, we learned, I got my own blog, he grew the goatee into a beard and we fell in love.”

Wow – I want to thank everyone who has submitted entries to me so far, they are all fantastic! It is going to be extremely hard to choose the winner and I think I may leave the honors up to someone other than myself. Too difficult for me!

I just thought I would share the cutest sequence of photos ever. While celebrating my nephew Brandon’s 2nd birthday he gave me a sweet drum solo. Watch out ladies……..He’s going to be a heart breaker! (you can see a bit of his chocolate face in that last photo)
Our baby Pancakes is one year old! She is never allowed in our backyard because all she does is dig up the mulch and plants. However, since it was her bday and I’m a sucker – I let her out back. Here she is right before bath time (the messy aftermath!):

In honor of Valentines Day coming up I have decided to have a LOVE contest. One deserving couple will win wedding day coverage by yours truly.
WHAT:
-8 hours of wedding day coverage by me
-all images hosted online for one year
-an online slideshow
-30 photo 8×8 album
WHO:
-anyone getting married in 2008 with a set date
-must have a great LOVE story and reason as to why they deserve this above anyone else!! (anyone can enter you and you can also enter yourself)
WHEN:
-all entries must be received by Feb 20th.

-must include a photo of the couple along with the LOVE story
-please include wedding date and location
WHY:
-because it’s valentines day!
-because i want to give back to the amazing community that has helped my little company grow and flourish!

I just heard from Northern Virginia Magazine that I was voted the 2008 Best Wedding Photographer. Yeah!!!! I am truly honored and humbled by this! And super excited of course!!! I want to thank everyone who voted for me, your faith means so much to me.
All of the magazines “2008 NoVa Best of” winners will be in their June 2008 issue, keep an eye out for it!

Joey and I are getting ready to head out to watch the game at his sisters house. I just want to give a final shout out to the Giants. We are so proud they have come this far and can’t wait to cheer them on tonight!!

Last Saturday I shot my first Corporate Party for Navigant Consulting at the Italian Embassy in DC. This was a fun bunch who certainly knows how to throw a bash. What a fabulous venue! The lighting, art, wall colors, architecture….everything! Just wow.Having married into an Italian family (can TRIANO be any more Italian!) I get to now call myself one too Any brides out there getting married at the Italian Embassy – CALL ME. I can’t wait to shoot there again.
Their movie theater boasts buttery smooth leather seats furnished by none other than Mr. Ferrari himself.
The band Full Circle kept everyone rockin all night.
