Chip came to me quite awhile ago to let me know he was planning on proposing to his girlfriend Lauren. She is apparently an avid reader of my blog and he thought it would be nice to have me photograph him proposing to her. I completely agreed with him!! I think that is the most romantic thing ever! I was planning on hiding out and secretly shooting it then doing an impromptu e-session around DC. Chip however divulged he wanted it to be a complete secret so he could surprise her with prints on Christmas. I can’t tell you how nervous I was hoping to not get caught by Lauren that day. I brought Joey along to shield me from their sights.
The proposal happened to fall on the day of the Marine Core Marathon so the city roads were basically all shut down making our stealth mission quite difficult. Poor Chip had to stall and stall until we finally arrived to our meeting spot, the Jefferson Memorial. Take a look at Chip proposing, and Lauren enthusiastically saying YES!!!!!! Congrats you two!!
i love this shot of them high-fiving as they are walking through the crowds on their way home (yes i was following them…ps – you guys walk really fast!)
It’s amazing that during this time of year when the weddings have slowed down, I am still up to my elbows in work. Designing albums and editing assistants images takes FOREVER! As an incentive to get my couples to work on their album with me, I don’t mail out the high res images until the album is ordered. Congrats to a bunch of my lovely clients who recently completed the design process with me. A treat is in the mail for you!!
hugs – Kate
Today I had the pleasure of photographing the wonderful Barefoot family again! Pam is a fabulous wedding planner who runs A Trendy Wedding. She was the talent behind the amazing Katie & Ed wedding (scroll down to view it again!). We had a great time setting up some fun holiday scenarios. I really loved how these photos turned out, so clever! Enjoy!!!
